It has no doubt that the wedding venue is a major part of your wedding. As already written in the first part of the wedding venue overview, it can make your wedding stand out from the crowd.
If you choose your venue to be an intimate country house, a romantic villa or luxury château; all is possible and will define the styling of your wedding for the main part.
This blog post will be the second part of the overview of venues which impressed me. Really impressed me in any way possible:
- the gorgeous surroundings
- the beautiful buildings
- the kindness of the owners/staff
- the possibilities to shoot at the venue itself
- …
All of the venues in this list(s) succeeded to stay fresh in my mind, which means they were doing it right! And again, in difficult times as we are in now, it is more important than ever to support quality vendors in the wedding industry.
Follow me along the second part of my trip to a few of my favourite venues.
La Bastide du Roy: wedding venue at the French Riviera
In the immediate surroundings of Nice, you can find Biot, with its wonderful venue La Bastide du Roy. The venue welcomed kings, rockstars, princesses and all kind of artists during its existence. The “royal” feeling is present all over the place; in the gardens, the building, the luxury rooms and even the view over the Riviera.
On the other hand, the venue gives you total privacy and the feeling of an intimate atmosphere. It has everything needed to host a wedding. The gardes for a cozy reception, the authentic rooms for the bride to get and the wonderful poolside gardens for the outdoor dinner and party. Next to that, you will be able to find lots of opportunities to have an amazing couple-shoot at the property itself.
Château des Alpilles, a hidden gem in the heart of Provence, Saint-Rémy.
Again completely different from the previous wedding venue, Château des Alpilles offers you the real French-style class and refinement. With its somehow more intimate character, it still offers you the opportunities to host larger wedding parties as the adorable château grounds are truly versatile.
Since 1979, the Bon family acquired the residence to turn it into a gracious hotel for guest to feel at home away from home. The owners and staff really treat you in a way which makes you feel at home, maybe even as friends. Which is a big plus on a wedding day, where extra stress is to be avoided.
The château has it all; the driveway with over 100-year old plane trees, the authentically renovated rooms and the amazing french gardens with beautiful pool parts.
Château Font du Broc: château wedding venue at the French Riviera
Heading back to the South-East of Provence again, more precisely to les Arcs sur Argens for an amazing winery: Château Font du Broc.
Founded in 1979, the venue has made an impressive history in wines from Provence. So that part is already well covered for your reception and wedding party! Situated in the heart of the Var region, the Château has a lot to offer. The classic gardens, the winery around the venue, the stables on the domain and an impressive Château Room to host your wedding guests.
This wedding venue truly breathes a Provence atmosphere with a touch of refined luxury.
Villa Ephrussi de Rotschild: an oasis of pure luxury at the French Riviera
If you want one of the most exclusive, luxurious and renowned wedding venues, Villa Ephrussi de Rotschild is probably the one for you.
The Villa was established in 1912 by Baroness de Ephrussi, who used it as her winter residence and made the house and gardens a true heaven for art lovers. In 1933 the villa was bequeathed by the Baroness to the Académie des Beaux-Arts who entrusted the management of the property to Culturespaces in 1991.
Being located at one of the most exclusive parts of the French Riviera, Villa Ephrussi is able to host events up to 300 seated guests. And you have to admit, the view at the gardens is truly unique.
So if you have the budget to spare and you want your wedding day to have that extra touch of glam, I’d say have a look at Villa Ephrussi.
Penha Longa Sintra: a top of the line wedding venue in Portugal
After spending some time in France, it is now up to Portugal for Penha Longa Resort in Sintra. Being one of the most stunning luxury resorts in Portugal, Penha Longa has it all: an on domain church for ceremonies, a variety of dining rooms, an amazing golf court, the authentic pool area for receptions and not to forget the exquisite hotel amenities. which makes it one of the top destinations.
Being located in the Sintra area, Penha Longa benefits of some kind of micro-climate, which is big plus for weddings with outdoor events. That combined with the greens of the domain, you will have a wonderful time of relaxing atmosphere.
Throughout the wedding venue the authentic Portuguese details were saves and the famous tile-works can be found all-over the place.
If you want to have your wedding in one of Portugal’s best venues, Penha Longa is definitely one of my favourites.
